Music: Choose an upbeat, kid-friendly song to dance to.
Steps:
1. Start with a Warm-Up:
- Stand with your feet hip-width apart.
- March in place, lifting your knees up high.
- Swing your arms gently from side to side.
2. The Basic Bounce:
- Stand up straight and relaxed.
- Start bouncing gently on your toes to the beat of the music.
- Add some arm movements, like raising your arms up and down while bouncing.
3. The Clap and Snap:
- While bouncing, clap your hands together on the count of 4 beats.
- Snap your fingers on the next 4 beats.
- Repeat this pattern: Clap (4 beats) and Snap (4 beats).
4. Side-to-Side Slide:
- Step to the right with your right foot and slide your left foot to meet it.
- Then, step to the left with your left foot and slide your right foot to meet it.
- Repeat this side-to-side slide movement.
5. Twirl Time:
- Stand with your feet together.
- Hold your arms out to the sides.
- Start twirling slowly in one direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) to the music.
- If you feel comfortable, you can try twirling in the other direction as well.
6. The Jump and Clap:
- Jump up off the ground and clap your hands above your head.
- Land gently on your toes.
- Repeat the jump and clap as the music plays.
7. Freeze Dance:
- Dance freely to the music, moving any way you like.
- When the music suddenly stops, freeze in your current pose until the music starts again.
- Keep dancing and freezing throughout the song.
8. The Big Finish:
- End the dance routine with your favorite dance move or pose.
- Strike a fun and confident pose to finish your dance with a flourish!
